Principle's Report

The Red Cross Society-Mr. S. J. Marantota (T.I.C.) An active and very useful society to the school community functioned well during 1984. The blood donation campaign organized in 1984 was by far the most successful campaign undertaken so far, where 87 donors of blood participated, a very substantial quantity of blood was collected by the Blood Bank. The members distributed essential items to flood victims in Haldola, a village in the Ratnapura District.

The International Red Cross Day was celebrated in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. Flags were sold on this occasion to the public and the members of the society collected the highest amount.

In addition the society provided first aid facilities at every school function and also during the Nawam Perahera which lasted for four days. The temple authorities were very appreciative of our services.

The usual first aid classes were held with the help of the Sri Lanka First Aid Society and an examination was conducted at the end of it.
