Project Objectives
- To assist Sri Lanka's Health Care system by donating essential items during the Covid pandemic.
- To encourage other parties as well to make donations of essential items to hospitals and Covid units.
- Contributing to Sri Lanka Health Authorities to eradicate Covid-19 from Sri Lanka.
Analysis
- The two clubs donated clinical items to the Covid-19 unit of Kiribathgoda Base Hospital, assisting Sri Lanka's Health Care system and contributing to the eradication of Covid-19 from Sri Lanka.
- We posted details about our project on digital media and print media to encourage other parties to make donations of essential items to hospitals and Covid units.
Project Overview
On October 8th, following the lifting of the curfew, a significant donation event took place at the Royal College premises. A limited number of invitees gathered to witness the donation of essential clinical items, including:
- 150 PPE kits
- 35 liters of sanitizer liquid
- 200 surgical gloves
- 150 face shields
- 600 KN95 face masks
Were generously contributed by well-wishers. Among the participants were Rev. Porawagama Nalaka Thero, Mr. M. V. S. Gunathilake, Principal of Royal College, Mr. M. A. M. Riyaz, Senior Games Master, Dr. Lankachandra Herath from Kiribathgoda Base Hospital, and key educators from the college. The event received publicity through WhatsApp, as well as the official Instagram and Facebook pages of both the Royal College Red Cross Society and the Royal College Unicef Club.
